Floating Haven – Lagos, Nigeria (November 2, 2024)

Graciously sponsored by Alliancer Francis, Floating Haven was a powerful evening of art, music, and shared purpose held in the heart of Lagos. Inspired by the spirit of our earlier potluck event, this outdoor gathering brought together performing artists who shared songs, poetry, and reflections on humanity, compassion, and collective care. A local caterer provided delicious food, while the exhibition was beautifully displayed throughout the venue’s garden space. The highlight of the night was a public screening of Kakuma, My City—a moving film that introduced many in the Nigerian audience to the stories and realities of the refugee camp in Kenya. Artists and friends from across the region generously donated original works, many of which were auctioned during the event and remain available for online sale, with proceeds supporting ongoing initiatives at Kakuma. It was a truly beautiful evening—an inspiring blend of culture, generosity, and community that reminded us how art can build bridges across borders.
